The last video on the NE6 channel was uploaded on June 24, 2020. Following a statement made by Wes regarding allegations against him, Mari, Lasercorn, and Joven all came forward with the news that they each were going to step away from New Element Six, and focus on their own projects. On June 26, 2020, NE6 seemed to come to a close. On June 5, 2020, Mari confirmed on her Twitch stream that she had left Smosh to focus on New Element Six and her personal channel. On May 22, 2020, Jacklyn Uweh was inducted into the Smosh Family. On March 4, 2020, Mari, Joven, Lasercorn, Sohinki, Flitz and Wes reunited to form New Element Six, implying that they had all officially left Smosh, but Mari continued to appear in some videos throughout early 2020. At the same time, Sarah Whittle, Matt Raub, Tommy Bowe and Spencer Agnew began appearing in more Smosh content as well as working as crew, with Sarah taking part in HALLOWEEN JUST DANCE 2020. Kimmy was the only member of the cast hired before Defy's closure to return to Smosh, taking part in Smosh Summer Games: Apocalypse, and would later be confirmed as a member of the Smosh Family on March 20, 2020. Both Mari and Lasercorn returned to relaunch the Smosh Games channel, while Wes and Joven confirmed they were to become part-time members and appear less frequently in Smosh content. On April 10, Smosh Games relaunched, with the Smosh Games Crew and the Smosh Squad joining together so only the Smosh Family existed. As part of this move to Mythical, Ian, Courtney, Shayne and Damien became the main cast members of Smosh, whilst Olivia, Keith and Noah took on a recurring role. On February 22, 2019, it was announced that Mythical Entertainment had acquired Smosh. On January 12, 2019, Boze announced that she was seeking new job opportunities and was leaving YouTube, and thus Smosh. Whilst Ian, the Smosh Squad and Damien continued to make videos for Smosh, the members of the Smosh Games Crew did not appear in any Smosh videos, continuing to work on their personal channels. However, on November 6, 2018, Defy Media announced the immediate closure of the company, meaning all employees of Defy, and thus Smosh, were now unemployed. Meanwhile, new cast members, including Kimmy Jimenez, began to appear in Smosh sketches, in an attempt to gradually introduce the audience to the new cast members. As revealed in the eleventh episode of the SmoshCast, Joven and Mari both became freelancers on May 1, 2018, but continued to regularly appear in Smosh Games videos and their departure from Defy Media was never announced. On Januin order to legally combat accusations of sexual assault by several women on social media, while not wanting to "risk having a negative impact" on Smosh Games (and Smosh as a whole), Flitz left Smosh with immediate effect. Two months later, on August 5, 2017, Lasercorn and Sohinki confirmed on their personal channels that there were becoming part-time member of Smosh Games, and they would be appearing less frequently in Smosh content, with Lasercorn appearing in more videos than Sohinki. On June 14, 2017, Anthony officially announced that he was leaving Smosh and working on his own personal channel and content. ![]() The two were both inducted on August 4, 2017. Ericka "Boze" Bozeman joined the Smosh family at Smosh Winter Games: Again! in February, 2017, and Damien Haas began appearing in videos since March 2017. They were both inducted on July 17, 2015. On March 13, 2015, Keith Leak Jr., Noah Grossman and Olivia Sui joined, forming the Smosh Squad, with Courtney Miller and later Shayne Topp (as part of Smosh Summer Games) joining the group. ![]() Having appeared in Smosh Games videos throughout 2014, Amra "FlitZ" Ricketts and Wesley "Wes" Johnson were inducted into the Smosh Family on October 12 of the same year. ![]() On September 26, 2012, Clevver Games officially joined with Smosh to create Smosh Games, adding David "Lasercorn" Moss, Joshua "Jovenshire" Ovenshire and Matthew "Sohinki" Sohinki to the Smosh Family. On April 23, 2011, Mari Takahashi officially joined the Smosh Family, hosting the show Smosh Pit Weekly on the IanH channel. Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla founded Smosh on November 19, 2005.
